Presentation Title: Update on the ‘Test Method for the Examination of Composting and Compost’

Presentation Description: The Test Method for the Examination of Composting and Compost (TMECC) provides detailed protocols for the composting industry to verify the physical, chemical, and biological condition of composting feedstocks, material in process, and compost products at the point of sale. The TMECC was released over 20 years ago, in 2002. Since then, technologies and methodologies for testing compost have progressed, requiring an update of TMECC to keep it current. Therefore, the checklist guidelines review protocol has been developed, and a database of subject-area experts has been identified to assist in the review process to update the TMECC version III v 3.5 protocols. This review checklist will be performed on all reviewed target chapters. Some chapters may need further revision of methods and technologies, which subject-area experts will review.
