Hannah Blaufuss has been at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for almost 7 years. She started in the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics supporting information collection, dissemination and management of existing chemicals. Now she is in the Office if Resource Conservation and Recovery supporting both the food waste team and the new funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Composting is a newer focus of hers professionally, but it has been a part of her personal life since her time at Ithaca College studying biochemistry to her Peace Corps service in Ghana as a health, water and sanitation volunteer. She received her Masters in Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University focusing on how the environmental shapes population health. She continues to reside in Baltimore City.
