Darren Midlane is the Chief Technical Officer for Life Soils and Organics Management Holdings and has over 32 years of experience in organics recycling and environmental remediation. Darren has acquired a broad knowledge of all aspects of compost production, its utilization, microbiology, and agronomic capabilities and has helped manage projects throughout the United States and around the globe.

Darren has been a Florida resident since 2006 and has been active in expanding the production and utilization of compost in agriculture, sports turf, land reclamation, and residential and commercial landscaping. His recent work and involvement in several research projects, has focused on the two main aspects of critical importance to the future sound environmental stewardship of Florida – water conservation and the avoidance of nutrient runoff. Living in a highly sensitive environment, with intensifying population pressures on water resources, more regulation on pollution control and ever-increasing public awareness of the detrimental effects of chemical use, Darren strives to provide a more eco-friendly, sustainable alternative in crop production and the establishment and maintenance of beautiful landscapes.
