Session Code: 5D
Session Name: Florida
Session Time: Thursday, February 8, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Presentation Title: The Florida Focus: Investing & Operating in the Sunshine State
Presentation Description: For the past three years, Atlas Organics has taken a keen interest in the growth of our Florida operations. Five composting facilities across the state now bear the Atlas Organics name and every step we’ve taken has been an intentional, strategic decision. The topic of growth is nothing new in the sunshine state. From 2021-2022 Florida gained over 500,000 new residents and when it comes to this great migration, there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. The organic waste recycling industry throughout the state is following the same trajectory. With more residents comes more waste and the state of Florida is welcoming the support of composters like Atlas Organics with open arms.
In this session, we would focus on the key reasons Atlas looked to Florida as a strategic place of expansion over three years ago. We will also cover the unique obstacles that have come with operating composting facilities across the state. Florida’s organic waste, both from residents and weather patterns like hurricanes, is an ever-present topic of conversation that composting companies have the solution for. Endless feedstock, along with favorable regulations, make Florida a desirable place of growth for our entire industry. We will answer the questions of why Florida, what we see for the future, and what it takes to be successful on a day-to-day basis. Florida poses both incredible opportunity and huge obstacles for organic waste processing. We are proud to have years of experience in the state and will be able to answer questions from those looking to learn about the current state of composting in Florida.
We are willing to allow our presentation to be included with other speakers.
