ACCESSIBILITY AT COMPOST2026

The USCC Composting for All Committee has worked hard to make COMPOST2026 the most accessible compost industry conference yet.

Accessibility Features Include:

  • Serenity Room: Room 12
  • Lactation, Personal Health, and Wellness Spaces: Rooms G1 and G2
  • Priority Seating at Opening Plenary and Closing Ceremony

Introducing the Serenity Room

COMPOST2026 in Sacramento will feature the Serenity Room: a quiet space for conference attendees. This room is designed to be a low-sensory retreat amidst the excitement of COMPOST2026. This is a peaceful place to take a break, decompress, or quietly catch up on emails. Whether you need a few minutes to rest your eyes, breathe deeply, or step away from the conference buzz, the Serenity Room is here for you.

The space was designed with neurodiverse attendees in mind, but all are welcome to use it respectfully.

What the Serenity Room Is For:

  • Sitting or resting quietly
  • Silent laptop, tablet, or phone use (no sound or calls)
  • Meditating or closing your eyes
  • Reading or journaling
  • Using the provided private area for quiet, personal activities such as prayer
  • Practicing quiet self-care or mindfulness
  • Respecting the space as a shared, silent environment

What the Serenity Room Isn’t For:

  • Phone calls, video chats, or meetings
  • Conversations or socializing
  • Eating meals with strong odors (small snacks only)
  • Playing music or videos (even with headphones, if audible to others)
  • Loud typing or disruptive movements
  • Networking or conducting business
  • Any activity that may draw attention or disturb others’ calm

Spend time on purpose.

Give your individual well being the attention it deserves in the USCC Serenity Room.
